John has established himself as the premier Colorado producer after relocating from Lubbock, Texas in 1976, and has racked up diverse recording credits with acts such as the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Big Head Todd and the Monsters, Opie Gone Bad, and Kelly Clarkson.  He also has extensive knowledge of traditional country music, and is an accomplished pedal steel guitarist that has toured with Kenny Vaughan, Gary Morris, and Ricky Skaggs.

Happy New Years!  We hope everyone had an incredible (and safe) night.  The band had an absolute blast playing a house party in Denver, and had an awesome view of the fireworks downtown!

We are going to have some BIG announcements coming your way about awesome goals for 2013, and we would love to have you be a part of them.  Stay tuned to our blog and social media posts for more details, but to kick things off, we’re excited to announce that we’re going into the studio in February!

We’ll be posting more about this later, so keep checking back for updates.

Also, thanks to everyone who made it out to our shows in 2012.  It was an incredible rookie year as a band, and we can’t wait to bring you along into 2013.

In a mere ten days, the Mayans predicted the end of the world as we know it.  While some Coloradoans are preparing with underground bunkers,  the Stang Gappa Band has been hard at work in preparation for December 21st.

After much deliberation, we have concluded that our best possible shot at fending off a zombie apocalypse lies in the weapons we strap on every weekend.  That’s right folks, we’re placing a hefty bet that pure, unadulterated country music has some serious potential of melting zombie faces.  Pair it with cheap bourbon and square tip boots, the living dead will stand no chance against our onslaught of REAL.COUNTRY.MUSIC.

So if you’re still trying to figure out your best plan of defense, we would like to personally invite you to our safe-haven.  Hell, the end of the world might actually turn out to be a pretty good time.  The whiskey starts flowing around 8PM, and the capacity is limited to 800, so make sure you bring your friends and family, and anyone else you want to protect from whatever may come.

First off, we hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving, and were able to spend a relaxing day with family and friends.

As the end of the year is wrapping down, we are already looking forward to the next.  We have felt an incredible amount of support from all of you this year.  We can’t begin to express our thanks.  Whether you’ve been able to catch us out at a show, shared our YouTube videos, or rocked out to our tunes, we are truly grateful to have your support.  The greatest source of our fulfillment comes from hearing about you having a good time enjoying our music.

We’ve come a long way since March, and are pushing ourselves more than ever to pay you back for your encouragement.  We want to express our gratitude, and figured the best way to find out how we can do that would be to ask you directly!  Here are some ideas:

• Where would you like to see us play next year?
• What would you like to hear from us?

• Would you rather have us focus efforts on live shows or recording music?

We’re excited to announce the monthly Stang Gappa Band Newsletter! The newsletter will contain blog updates from the band, new videos & music, and most importantly, our show schedule. We feel this is going to be a great way for us to better connect with our fans.
